ABOUT THE DOCTORS

 

Dr. Mary Lou Barry is a native of Chatham, New Brunswick. Prior to her optometry studies she attended the University of New Brunswick (UNB). Dr Barry graduated with honours in 1987 from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. Dr Barry has been active with the provincial optometry association. She has been the recipient of the Barnes Bell Award for her work on the negotiation committee. Dr. Barry has a special interest in sports vision.
   
 
Dr. Julia Galatis was born in Montreal, Quebec. She did her pre-optometry studies at the University of Toronto. Dr. Galatis graduated with honours in 1983 from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. Dr. Galatis has served on council for the New Brunswick Association of Optometrists (NBAO) since 1991. She was president of the Association from 1996-1998. She then served as the New Brunswick representative to the Canadian Association of Optometrists from 2000-2006. Presently she is Registrar for the NBAO, which serves as the regulatory body for optometry. Dr. Galatis has also been honoured for her volunteer work with the CNIB.
